A Fast DC-Bus Voltage Controller for Bidirectional Single-Phase AC/DC Converters
This project presents a new dc-bus voltage control technique for single-phase bidirectional ac/dc converters. The proposed controller is able to significantly improve the transient response of the dc-bus voltage control loop and provide a robust and reliable closed-loop control system. In the proposed approach, the dc value of the dc-bus voltage is precisely estimated through a specific adaptive filter. The structure of the proposed filter provides a very fast and robust estimation for the dc value of the dc-bus voltage. In particular, the proposed dc-extraction technique is able to precisely estimate the dc value in presence of double-frequency ripple mounted on top of the dc-bus voltage in single-phase ac/dc converters.
The bidirectional ac/dc converter can effectively control the power flow between the grid and the traction battery, as well as performing other ancillary services. According to this figure, the bidirectional ac/dc converter is the interface between the DG and the traction battery. The control of the ac/dc converter is of great importance to the integration of the EV into a DG. The control system is responsible for implementing power flow control, as well as other functions required to support the DG. The focus of this paper is on the design and implementation of the control system for a bidirectional ac/dc converter with V2G/G2V capability.
The bidirectional ac/dc converter is able to provide power flow in both directions between the grid and the vehicle. The bidirectional single-phase AC/DC converter. This converter includes an active rectifier at the input stage and an isolated dual active bridge converter at the output stage. There is an LCL filter at the input of the active rectifier in order to eliminate the high-frequency harmonics. An intermediate dc bus is in between the two stages in order to alternate the power ripple.
