Content Based Image retrieval system
Content Based Image retrieval system
ABSTRACT:
Advances in data storage and image acquisition technologies have enabled the reaction of large image datasets. In this scenario, it is necessary to develop appropriate information systems to efficiently manage these collections. That approach is called content based image retrieval system .Basically; those systems try of retrieve images similar to a user-defined specification or pattern (e.g., shape sketch, mage example). Their goal is to support image retrieval based on content properties (e.g., shape, color, texture), usually encoded into feature vectors.
One of the main advantages of the CBIR approach is the possibility of an automatic retrieval process, instead of the additional keyword-based approach, which usually requires very laborious and time-consuming previous annotation of database images. The CBIR technology has been used in several applications such as fingerprint identification, biodiversity information systems, digital libraries, crime prevention, medicine, historical research, among others.
This project aims to introduce the problems and challenges concerned with the reaction of CBIR systems, to describe the existing solutions and applications, and to present the state of the art of the existing research in this area.
PROJECT OUTPUT VIDEO:
EXISTING SYSTEM:
An important part of digital media is image data. In contrast to text, images Consist of pure pixel data with no inherent meaning. Commercial image catalogues therefore use manual annotation and rely on text retrieval techniques for searching Particular images.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
-
Problem of image annotation
-
-
Large volumes of databases
-
Valid only for one language – with image retrieval this limitation should not exist
-
-
Problem of human perception
-
-
Subjectivity of human perception
-
Too much responsibility on the end-user
-
-
Problem of deeper (abstract) needs
-
-
Queries that cannot be described at all, but tap into the visual features of images.
-
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
-
CBIR is the application of computer vision to the image retrieval problem, that is, the problem of searching for digital images in large databases.
-
Images have rich content.
-
This content can be extracted as various content features like color, pixel based.
-
Take the responsibility of forming the query away from the user.
-
Each image will now be described by its own features.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
-
A variety of experiments on three cross-media commonly used benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
-
The experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly outperform the state-of-the-art methods.
MODULES:
1. Login module
2. Data insertion
3. Query processing
4. Visualization
