ABSTRACT:
The “Online Toll Gate Management System” is a web-based application developed using Java, JSP, and MySQL. The main objective of this system is to automate the toll gate management process by providing a convenient and efficient way to manage toll gates. The manual toll collection system is often inefficient and prone to errors, which can lead to traffic congestion and dissatisfied customers. The proposed system aims to address these issues by providing an online platform for toll gate attendants to record toll transactions and for administrators to manage toll gate locations, staff accounts, and view reports. The system architecture consists of a presentation layer, business layer, and data layer. The presentation layer is developed using JSP and HTML, which provides a user-friendly interface for the users to interact with the system. The business layer is developed using Java, which handles the business logic of the system, such as user authentication, toll transaction management, and reporting. The data layer is developed using MySQL, which provides a reliable and scalable database for storing and retrieving data. The toll gate attendants can log in to the system using their credentials and record toll transactions by entering the vehicle details and the toll fee. This system is very useful for automatic vehicle tracking, time management and also for automation of Toll gate. Online Toll Gate Management systems have been of great assistance in lessening the over congestion that has become a part of the metropolitan cities these days. It is one of the uncomplicated ways to manage the great run of traffic. The travelers passing through this mode of transport, carried by their transport that allows them to be aware of the account of money that has been paid and the money left in the tag. It relieves the traveler of the burden of waiting in the queue to make the toll payment, which decreases the fuel-consumption and also taking cash with them can be avoided.

EXISTING SYSTEM:
There are two ways of collecting toll tax being in practice at present. First is the traditional manual method where one person collects the money and issues a receipt. The other one is Smart Card system where the person needs to show the smart card to the system installed at the toll tax depot to open the barrier.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
- In this system each schedule can be tracked from the start till the end of the Project cycle.
- User friendliness is provided in the application with various controls.
- The system makes the overall project management much easier and flexible.
- Readily uploads the latest updates and allows users to interact.
- There is no risk of data mismanagement at any level while the project is being developed.
- It provides a high level of security with different levels of authentication.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
This system is developed by using Java as front end and MYSQL as back end respectively. The entire process is changed to systematically to avoid access and storage delay. JSP is a good user interface. The proposed system is designed to be more efficient than the manual system. It invokes all base tasks that are now carried out manually, such as the forms transactions and reports which is added advantage

MODULES DESCRIPTION:
Admin:
In Admin module, Admin will act as an authority. He/she can add staff details also can update. He/she can view all the toll details, entries in each tolls, online toll ticket details, user feedback about toll gates, he/she will fix the toll fare details and also he/she can update the fare details. He/she can view all the registered users. He/she can make report of users entry details.
Staff:
In staff module, he/she can login with the unique staff id and password. He/she can view all the online entry details in the particular toll gate. He/she can entry the vehicle details that pass through the toll gate. He/she can view all vehicle details that pass through the toll gate.
Users:
In Users module, Users can search Toll Gate details by enter the Keyword. After that search result will be shown to user. User can book toll ticket by online. After successful payment an automatic mail will be sent to the users mail id about the vehicle details and transaction id and also user can feedback to the selected toll gate.
